Innovation awards for Busch

Busch received two international innovation awards this October: In the middle of the month Busch received the "JEC Asia Award" in Singapore. This award appreciates the innovative activity of Busch in the field of nano technology and the development of composites materials. Last week Busch received the "AVK Innovation Award" in Stuttgart for the same

development.

Not only in the plastics industry Busch has been active this fall. In October Busch presented its vacuum pumps and systems at nine different trade shows in Germany, USA, Poland, the Netherlands, China and Singapore.

The innovations in the nano technology market segment was developed by the Swiss company Composites Busch in cooperation with Huntsman.

Huntsman is the leading manufacturer of resin systems based in Basle, Switzerland.

In practice the new technology was used for the creation of a new generation of Busch ice hockey sticks. Ostensibly, ice hockey sticks have not much in common with vacuum pumps.

However, the results of the research will be integrated into the development of new products in the field of vacuum technology.

In Porrentruy Switzerland, Busch produces ice hockey sticks of carbon and fibre glass. These are formed and afterwards resin, which was developed with nano technology, is injected. This is the first ice hockey stick worldwide, which consists only of one piece.

This production method has also the advantage that the ice hockey stick can be adapted to the individual needs of an ice hockey player.

Therefore many top international ice hockey players order a Busch ice hockey stick where they can have an influence on the characteristics of the stick such as flexibility and the geometric form.

In other applications of plastics processing Busch vacuum technique is used. This was demonstrated at the plastics trade show Fakuma in Friedrichshafen, which also took place in October. At the exhibition Busch displayed vacuum systems, which are used for material loading at plastics processing machines

Company Australia

The new factory building in Broadmeadows
20 years of success in Australia

Twenty years ago, Dr.-Ing. Karl Busch and his wife founded a wholly owned subsidiary in Australia with their own financial means. On October 22, 2005, they celebrated the company’s twentieth anniversary, relocating headquarters and the plant to a brand new facility in Broadmeadows, near Melbourne. Customers and employees were invited, and the Busch family was there to celebrate.

Busch Australia Pty. Ltd. was established in Tullamarine, Victoria in 1985. In 1990, a sales office was opened in New South Wales and 1991, saw another branch opened in Queensland.

Having earned a respected name over the years, Busch Australia has a reputation as the company to go to for all your vacuum-related needs.

After opening the Magdeburger Halbkugel

Mayor Jérôme Oeuvrey and Otto von Guericke with the Busch family after opening the Magdeburger Halbkugel by Yasmin Busch-Muderris
25-year anniversary of Busch S.A.

On September 23, 2005, our Swiss manufacturing plant, Ateliers Busch S.A., celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary in Chevenez in the Canton of Jura. Customers from all over the world, all of the chief officers of the various Busch companies, Jean-François Roth, the Jura Minister for Industry and Trade as well as the mayors of Chevenez and Maulburg, Jérôme Oeuvrey and Jürgen Multnerthe and many employees accepted the invitation to see the modern manufacturing facility, new offices, conference and exhibit rooms in Chevenez. The Bush family and Ateliers Busch S.A. chief officer, Roman Heil hosted nearly 200 guests.

In addition to its other plants in Maulburg and Virginia Beach, In 1980 the Busch family decided to build a manufacturing plant in Switzerland. Today, the facility employs over 350 men and women and is the third largest employer in the Canton of Jura. Both Dr.-Ing. Karl Busch and his wife Ayhan Busch spoke of the good relationships with the local and canton governments and praised the exemplary motivation and commitment of the employees in their speeches.

Following the company tour, the guests received a special treat: Otto von Guericke’s historic demonstration from 1663, in which he demonstrated the presence of atmospheric pressure via the Magdeburg hemispheres, was repeated. True to the original, 16 strong horses tried to pull the airless halves apart in Chevenez at Ateliers Busch S.A.’s twenty-fifth anniversary. The result was the same as back in seventeenth-century Magdeburg, the 16 horses being no match for the strength of the evacuated hemispheres, which were pressed together with 1000 kg per square metre external atmospheric pressure.
